Sign Up for Summer Reading on Beanstack
Join thousands of Nashvillians as we read (or listen!) for the Summer Reading Challenge. Register on Beanstack for free and log your reading.
How to Participate
Individuals and Families
- Register online or print a paper log and return to a local library branch.
- Track reading and activities. Log reading for 15 days and get a prize. Complete 10 activities to win a prize.
- If you signed up for Summer Reading in Beanstack last year, your account is still there. Just log in and join this year's challenge!
Groups
- Contact your local library branch to register as a group.
- Groups must be part of a daycare, summer camp, senior center, or other organization.
- Participants who complete the program as a group are also allowed (and encouraged!) to complete the program individually to redeem individual-program prizes.
- Families may not participate as groups. They must register each member individually.

- Receive a reusable bag.
Reading and Activity Prizes
Earn prizes by reading or doing activities or both!
- For every 15 days read, you'll earn a coupon for a local business plus 1 entry in the grand prize drawing. Repeat 4 times.
- For every 10 activities completed, you'll earn a coupon for a local business plus 1 entry in the grand prize drawing.
Grand Prize Drawings
At the end of Summer Reading, each library location will have 2 drawings for a $150 gift card to a local bookstore.

- Read a book published this year.
- Read a book out loud to someone else.
- Read a book by a Native American author.
- From page to screen: read a book with a tv or movie adaptation!
- Read a book set in your home state or country.
- Read an award-winning book.
- Read something from your to-read list.
- Read a book featured as part of Adult Battle of the Books.
- Read a new genre.
- Re-read a book you loved in school.
- Try again. Give a book you never finished a second chance!
- Get caught reading! Sit down with a book at your favorite local business or park.
- Visit a new branch.
- Attend an NPL program.
- Read a book featuring someone with a disability.
- Celebrate Pride Month! Read a book by an LGBTQ author.
- Check out something that’s not a book or DVD.
- Read or listen to your next book in a new-to-you format.
