What are the Literacy Kits?
These kits are themed sets of materials that have been packaged as a kit in a canvas tote and are stored in the Main Childrens Division of the Nashville Public Library ( 615 Church Street).
What do the kits contain?
They may include puppets, videos/DVDs, books and other materials related to conducting a story-time for young children. A list of the contents is included in each kit.
Who can borrow these kits?
Kits are available for check-out by educators affiliated with centers such as daycares, preschools, and Head Starts. If checking out for a center, an educator should contact the Main Library Childrens Division staff at 862.5785.
For how long can these kits be checked out?
Kits are checked out for 4 weeks. If they become overdue, the charge is $2.00 per set per day, with a maximum fine of $10.00.

How do you check out a kit?
Contact the Main Library Childrens Division to reserve a kit. At that point, the kit will be checked out and can be sent to any library location desired. Kits can also be returned to any library location.
