Lost Library Cards

Report a lost or stolen card immediately to prevent the unapproved use of your card. A lost or stolen card may be reported in person or by telephone without the card number. The replacement fee for lost cards is $1.00.

Lost / Damaged Library Materials

If you lose a book, video, or other library item, you will be charged for a replacement plus a processing charge per item. If item is later found and returned, the replacement cost will be refunded. The processing fee is non-refundable. You may not buy a replacement item and return it in lieu of the fee for a lost item.

Loss of any part of an A/V item will result in an $8.00 fine.

If an item is damaged to the extent that it cannot circulate any more, you will be charged the full replacement cost.

Your PIN

A library PIN will permit you to use enhanced features of Nashville Public Library's online system and account services. It provides additional security for your account and prevents others from using your library card or accessing your account.

If you forget your PIN, library staff can delete your existing one. You may contact staff in person, by phone, or E-mail. After your PIN has been deleted by a staff member, you may create a new one. Note: library staff cannot view your PIN; they may only reset it.

Go to Login to My Account.
Enter your library card number, and type any four numbers. This will automatically send you to a page where you may create your new PIN. Once you have created your PIN, please make a note of it - you will be using your PIN for many library functions.

You may elect to change your PIN number at any time by accessing your account and selecting Modify PIN. You must use your original PIN to gain access to the change function.
